Local Dispatch (21/03/30) - Rock The Vote!

Comrades & friends,

Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 31, 7am-7pm is the first of two voting days for our local executive elections! Regardless who you vote for, a high turnout is very important. Last election, only 200 members out of 2300 bothered to vote. When CPC sees this they know our membership isn’t engaged with the union and can take liberties with how they treat us. We can't afford to look weak as we advance into negotiations.

Also in this dispatch: our April 2021 newsletter (election edition), GMM registration reminder (election results announced), and the next ‘Organizing For Power’ workshop.

In Solidarity,

(In the spirit of fairness and transparency, this dispatch was reviewed by the Election Committee to make sure it follows election guidelines before being sent out.)

Local Executive Elections - Candidate Materials

All candidates were provided the opportunity to submit campaign materials according to guidelines established in collaboration with the Election and Communications Committees and in accordance with current C-19 protocols. This upcoming election is an important one. Your vote will decide the approach you'd like to see your local take moving into our next round of contract negotiations and onward. This is a tremendous opportunity to decide your union leadership - come on out and vote! Please check out the visions advocated by the different candidates and vote for who you feel will best strengthen our local to fight CPC.
